Canova’s idealised figure remains intact, but her timeless poise is disrupted by unmistakably modern elements: a phone held in hand, jewellery resting at the neck. These additions fracture the illusion of permanence, inserting contemporary self-awareness into a form long associated with distance and idealisation.
